Summary Description of Position
Implements the production strategy for a facility. Manages the operations associated with aggregate production including quarrying, mining, processing, stockpiling, loading and shipping. Responsible for fixed and mobile equipment maintenance, employee and community relations, and the safety, health and environmental aspects of the facility. Balances inventory and critical sizes according to local market needs. Ensures all of the above is done in accordance with Vulcan's mission statement. Supervises the facility's salaried and hourly workforce.
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Responsible from production end to finishing end of materials up to 1 million tons
2. Meet or exceed all safety, health & environmental expectations established for the site
3. Consistently meet customer expectations by providing quality products in a cost effective and efficient manner
4. Maintain the plant's critical community relations role by working effectively with businesses, schools, civic groups, and corporate representatives
5. Facilitate the growth and development of employees and supervisors through comprehensive performance management measures
Education, Experience, Skills Required
Bachelor's degree preferred
4 years experience in aggregates or related industry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills
Understand asset utilization and application
Excellent employee relations skills and hands-on abilities
Understands cost management (detailed-metric driven)
Working knowledge of plant maintenance
Substantial production experience
Desire and experience in community relations work

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
